We have a Brivis Ducted Heater. Last year it stopped working, wouldn't auto ignite, and rang Brivis.
$180 call out fee and then replaced some parts with total of $850 all up. About couple of months ago wife tried and it did the same, no auto ignition. Rang Brivis and told them to come and look under warranty of new parts. Went home climbed into roof to have a look. Turned the power switch (wall plug) off for 1min turned on hoping for a reset and walla it works.I'd say every company has a call out fee, so if you can turn the power off for a minute or two and see if it resets. If not see if there is a reset button on the heating unit.
I've added info to my post above and looking here as well may helpGas supply Interruption. Is the fault.I honestly think a 5 -10 minute full power down on it will fix it. ( turnoff main switch on house ) Then power up and you go to heater unit and get mrs to go to controller. Get mrs to turn it onto heat and you with Inspection cover off and fingers and face clear watch it go through the start cycle ( light pilot. Fan then mAin gas valve.
Often the Heater itself will have a fault led or LEDs on it as well and can display fault codes as well and fault code diagnosis on inside of lid / inspection cover. Thanks PeteV for your help. I have turned off the unit from the switch in the roof for 10 minutes and now back on. Tonight I will test if it faults again as it can be between 5 minutes and 2 hours until it faults. Its not a starting issue so not sure if the inspection you mention above will help in diagnosis?I have been furiously googling but I am hitting more and more dead ends.If tonights tests fail, I may have to get someone out. I have been quoted $150 to come and 'service' it. I will have to ask what 'service' means.
The missus patience is wearing thin lol (although the anger helps increase the body temperature:P). Hi Fab,That particular model will be automatic ignition like most modern heaters these days. (Meaning the pilot only buns when in use not all the time) If the unit runs for a period of time and shuts down it may be over heating. Check to see that your return air is sucking air, hold piece of paper to it to check. Clean R/A filter, inspect return air duct in roof to check it is not squashed/crushed etc.
This can cause the heater to overheat and is one of the most common causes of problems. Also replace batteries in you thermostat if it has them, this may also be the cause.Failing that you may need to get someone out to look at it. Unfortunately Bonaire are not the greatest heaters ever made and they do have there fair share of issues.Best of luck. G'day fab, I've just been reading through the issues that you had with your heater and it appears that I've got EXACTLY the same problem!
I've tried turning the mains power off and restarting the system (with no success), and tomorrow I'm gonna climb in to the roof and turn the power off from the unit and even try and press the reset button on the unit itself as one last try. Failing that I think I will have to ring a service tech to get him to come and have a look at it. I notice that you live just up the road in Caroline Springs (I'm in Derrimut), would you have the number of the bloke that serviced yours, and was he any good?
Regards Gary. Hi, I had the same fault for a ducted gas heater. This post keeps coming up when i search the fault code. I have a fix (worked twice) but i feel this post gets a bit of traffic so i thought i may be able to assist others in the future. Like mentioned above, this occurs when your flame sensor fails.

The fault code is for insufficient gas flow, but this occurs when the unit cant sense the flame is lit then cuts gas. Because it kills the gas it sends a no gas code, clearly. Flame sensors are about $35 and can be bought online. They tend to last every 3 years and are changed out when you get a $350 'service'.

My unit only has one and is held in by one philips head screw. Just replace new for old. Done this fix twice and worked both times. Keeps the old girl humming for 9 yrs now. Most units share similar architecture so chances are this is applicable to a few models.
